Job Summary:

 

 

The Director of Clinical Services / Director of Nursing is a registered nurse (RN) who ensures the quality of patient care in the home. The primary function is for the overall administration of the clinical departments and monitoring of appropriate staffing and productivity. The DCS / DON coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team, patient/family and referring agency.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Registered nurse (RN) licensed in Texas or in accordance with the Board of Nurse Examiners rules for Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
  • 2 years of experience in a leadership role. (DCS, Clinical Supervisor, AdoN, etc)
  • 4 years of experience in Home Health
  • HomeCare HomeBase experience.
  • Good communication skills, assessment skills, and strong clinical documentation skills.
  • Demonstrates proven decision-making skills.
  • Nursing skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice.
  • Reliable transportation. Valid and current auto liability insurance.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Directs and coordinates clinical departments and branches; assumes responsibility for continuity, quality, and safety of services delivered in compliance with State and federal regulations. (Conditions of Participation)
  • Participates in activities relevant to professional services, including development of qualifications and assignment of agency personnel.
  • Supervises and provides direction to subordinates, in an effort to ensure quality compliance with Plan of Care and assessment and reassessment of patients needs and continuity of services by appropriate health care personnel.
  • Monitors QAPI Program and assures appropriate corrective measures are performed.
  • Promotes compliance with all fiscal intermediary and/or other third party payors, through education, coaching, and other assistance as necessary.
  • Monitors systems and identifies problem areas to Administrator both verbally and through written reports.
  • Meets mandatory continuing education requirements of the agency/licensing board.
  • Promotes and educates regarding the concepts of infection control and universal precautions in coordinating/performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease.
  • Uses effective interpersonal relations and communication skills; facilitates the use of these skills by other team members to achieve desirable outcomes.
  • Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
