About the role

Positions Summary 

Inspecting and repairing Frac power ends, removing severely damaged power ends and replacing with rebuilt and new units. Techs will assist in root causes for failures and also help with engineering projects and new technologies to help make sure things run smoothly and engineering best practices are followed. 

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Communicate with clients to determine needs and explain complex issues 

  • Conduct research and studies on site 

  • Manage field activities and implement engineering designs 

  • Diagnose pump or machinery problems 

  • Resolve malfunctions or other crises when they arise 

  • Oversee repairs and technical improvements 

  • Install new systems and technology 

  • Inspect and test material and machinery for quality and safety 

  • Ensure proper maintenance of onsite equipment 

  • Lead and direct onsite crew (e.g. technicians) 

  • Draft and submit reports and attention to details 

  • Well-versed in technical aspects of field projects, including pumps, fluid ends and equipment 

  • Understanding of safety guidelines 

 

Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent/technical training diploma or certificate in electronics recommended. 

  • Experience in service company or oilfield operating company preferred. 

  • Good verbal and written communications skills. 

  • Must possess the ability to work independently and as a member of a team. 

  • Sensitive to confidential information. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

  • Able to read, speak and write English. 

  • Ability to use sophisticated computer software programs to achieve job functions. 

  • Strong physical and mental health to maintain demanding workload. 

  • Able to work under stressful conditions at times. 

  • Communication - phone communication, communication with personnel and vendors. 

  • Seeing - able to see the computer screen. 

  • Climbing – able to go up, down and over equipment in a safe manner using good judgment and proper safety equipment as required. 

  • Position will require a minimum of 40 hours per week with frequent extended hours required based on workload requirements. 

  • Position will require (24) twenty-four hours availability, with (7) seven-day weeks when workload requires, with time off scheduled per current workload.
