Location: [Remote]

About the Role Join Oracle's Health Data Intelligence (HDI) team as a Senior Software Engineer (IC4) and drive the reliability, scalability, and innovation of our world-class analytics platform infrastructure. In this individual contributor role, you'll architect, build, and transform cutting-edge systems that power healthcare analytics, ensuring seamless performance across massive datasets and diverse cloud environments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions that enable business intelligence, reporting, and data-driven insights for global healthcare leaders.

Required Skills
  • Infrastructure & Reliability: Expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing high-availability infrastructure with fault tolerance and performance tuning.
  • Data Technologies: Proficiency in Vertica, Data Warehousing Platforms and tools including columnar storage/analytics, and ETL frameworks.
  • BI & Reporting: Hands-on experience integrating and enhancing Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Oracle Analytics) for actionable insights.
  • DevOps/SRE Practices: Strong skills in automation, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Kubernetes), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and monitoring/observability (Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Cloud Ecosystems: Deep knowledge of multi-cloud environments (AWS, Oracle Cloud) with focus on cost efficiency, scalability, and compliance.
  • Problem-Solving & Collaboration: Proven ability to troubleshoot production issues, conduct root-cause analysis, mentor teams, and contribute to technical roadmaps.
  • Programming & Tools: Solid foundation in languages like Python/Java/Go, plus containerization (Docker) and scripting for cloud-native architectures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize infrastructure for the Oracle HDI Analytics Platform, focusing on high availability, fault tolerance, and performance tuning.
  • Build and transform scalable data pipelines, leveraging Vertica for columnar storage and analytics, alongside ETL processes for efficient data ingestion and transformation.
  • Integrate and enhance Business Intelligence (BI) and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or Oracle Analytics) to deliver actionable insights from complex datasets.
  • Champion DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices: Automate deployments, monitor system health with tools like Prometheus/Grafana, and implement CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, Jenkins, or Kubernetes.
  • Work across multi-cloud ecosystems (AWS, Oracle Cloud, On-Prem) to ensure platform agnosticism, cost efficiency, and compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues proactively, conducting root-cause analysis and driving continuous improvements in system reliability.
  • Mentor junior engineers, contribute to technical roadmaps, and stay ahead of emerging technologies in data warehousing and cloud-native architectures.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles.
  • Deep expertise in data warehousing and ETL frameworks.
  • Proven hands-on experience with BI/reporting tools and analytics platforms; familiarity with Oracle HDI or similar healthcare data systems is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in cloud technologies: Infrastructure as Code (IaC), container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes), and monitoring/observability stacks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering reliable systems at scale in fast-paced environments.
  • Passion for healthcare innovation and a collaborative mindset
