ROLE SUMMARY

The Service Quality Connected Engineering department ensures the rapid resolution of quality issues through effective 
collaboration with Subaru of America (SOA), Subaru Corporation (SBR), and various suppliers.

The Service Quality Connected Vehicle Support Analyst provides technical expertise and support in resolving quality issues related to infotainment and connected vehicle technologies. Leads the evaluation process for running change in-vehicle software, working closely with SOA, Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI), Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), Toyota Motor North America (TMNA), and SBR to ensure alignment and thorough validation. Under the direction of the manager, supports the investigation and 
analysis of quality concerns, delivers detailed data analysis, and helps ensure the seamless execution of connected vehicle 
evaluation activities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Technical Support & Issue Resolution: Assists in identifying, diagnosing, and resolving infotainment and connected 
    vehicle quality issues, using data analysis and technical knowledge. Assists engineers in Quick Response Activity 
    (QRA) investigations, from preparation to report creation.
  • Diagnoses Subaru vehicle connected technical issues, both as part of a QRA or for vehicles that are part of the North 
    American Subaru, Inc. (NASI) company fleet. Repairs NASI vehicles, if needed.
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Gathers and analyzes data related to quality issues, documenting findings, and contributing 
    to root cause analysis efforts.
  • Investigation Assistance: Supports the investigation process by collaborating with internal teams (Subaru Corporation 
    [SBR], Subaru of America [SOA], Toyota Motor North America [TMNA]) and external suppliers to ensure timely 
    resolution of quality issues.
  • Firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA) & Wired Software Evaluation: Leads the setup, market coordination, test case 
    identification and creation, execution, and cross-functional coordination to evaluate and validate running change 
    software delivered through both FOTA and wired vehicle software updates.
  • Quality Monitoring: Regularly monitors vehicle performance and quality in the field, reporting any emerging issues to the 
    manager for further action.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Creates and maintains detailed documentation of investigations, resolutions, and corrective 
    actions to support ongoing quality initiatives

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Works closely with the Fast Action & Solution Team (FAST) team, Subaru 
    of Indiana Automotive (SIA), SOA, Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI), and other stakeholders to support issue resolution and 
    ensure alignment on action plans.
  • Continuous Learning: Develops technical expertise in connected vehicle systems, infotainment technologies, and quality 
    management practices, staying up to date with the latest developments.
  • Special Projects: Provides support on special projects as assigned in the Connected Vehicle Service Quality Team.
     

REQUIRED SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at one time with ability to multi-task and stay organized.
  • Strong knowledge of head unit software, Data Communication Models (DCM), and out-car connected services.
  • Strong documentation and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interact effectively with Japanese people and adapt to Japanese business practices.
