JOB TITLE: Personal Trainer FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Looking for early morning, evening, and weekend availability.
Pay is $28.08-$58 per session, depending on experience.
General Statement of Duties: Responsible for planning and conducting effective and enjoyable personal training sessions/classes in a variety of formats. Sets appropriate, safe structure for personal training sessions, assessments, and tests; ensures participants of a quality workout experience. Modifies the workout structure to accommodate various levels of fitness. Performs a variety of administrative duties including record keeping, answering phones and emails, and scheduling appointments. Keeps attendance records and monitors participant progress.
Supervision Received: Works under the supervision and direction of the Fitness Team Leader/Coordinator.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Examples of Duties: The following examples of duties are intended to be illustrative only and are not intended to be all-inclusive.
- Designs and instructs training sessions in conjunction with the intended format. Modifies the workout structure to accommodate various levels of fitness.
- Set an appropriate, safe structure for personal training sessions, the assessment process, and tests. Follows a nationally recognized curriculum for exercise programming. Ensures participants of a quality fitness experience.
- Keep proper records of training sessions and packages with clients to ensure the client is charged correctly for each training session.
- Ensures the safety of participants by implementing and monitoring procedures to meet safety guidelines/expectations. Completes incident reports as required.
- Inform the Fitness Team Leader/Coordinator of all incidents, complaints, and unfavorable situations immediately.
- Takes responsibility for the safe and effective use of program equipment. Reports any equipment concerns and identifies supply needs. Sets up and takes down equipment as needed.
- Attends and participates in scheduled staff meetings.
- Implements a customer service model that enhances positive communication and support for all customers, internal and external. Supports the HRCA mission and values.
- Presents a positive approach to working with other HRCA staff members. Provides information to clarify the intent and structure of personal training programs. Resolves problems and concerns as able. Works positively to share workspaces and equipment.
- Facilitates equipment orientations and body compositions as assigned.
- Completes related duties as assigned.
Physical and Environmental Standards: Most work is performed indoors in a busy setting where noise and interruptions prevail. Must be able to regularly sit, walk, stand, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, push or pull. Manual dexterity is needed to type and write. The ability to talk and hear via the telephone and through face-to-face communication is needed. Vision requirements include near and far acuity. Upper body strength is a requisite to lift/move a maximum of 40 pounds unassisted and 60 pounds with assistance.
