Detailed Position Information
The Department of Human Nutrition, Hospitality and Sport Management, a growing Department with a thriving faculty, seeks to fill a full-time non-tenure track instructor position to teach core classes in nutrition, food service management, and food systems. The Department is one of five in the College of Human Environmental Sciences (CHES) at The University of Alabama. We offer an undergraduate degree in Food and Nutrition, a Coordinated Program in Dietetics, and a Didactic Program in Dietetics. Additionally, the Department offers a MS and PhD in Human Nutrition.

Responsibilities: Teaching and service to articulate the mission of the University including:
• Teach courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, as appropriate, in nutrition and food service management to support the nutrition programs.
• Recruit, mentor, and advise students.
• Serve on Department, College, and University committees.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should have a strong background, training, and expertise in human nutrition.
• MS in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a closely-related field from an accredited four-year college or university (required).
• Registered Dietitian required.
• Must have completed at least 18 hours of graduate level nutrition courses.
• Evidence of the ability to teach at the collegiate level and the expertise to teach courses such as food service management, food systems, and purchasing.

Preferred Qualifications
• PhD preferred • Foodservice Management Experience (minimum one year) preferred. • The ideal candidate will bring both academic knowledge and practical experience to the classroom.
