As a Data & Analytics Business Analyst, you will work across business and technology teams to understand processes, decision-making needs, data flows, and reporting requirements, translating them into clear business requirements that support modern data platforms, customer and trade analytics, improved reporting, and foundational data initiatives, ensuring practical, adoptable, and business-focused outcomes.
Job Description
What You’ll Do as Business Analyst - Data & Analytics
In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:
- Support Primark’s Data & Analytics Transformation by capturing business requirements, data needs, process dependencies, and adoption considerations to enable a scalable modern data platform and analytics capability.
- Drive Customer, Trade & Reporting Insights through engagement with stakeholders across Buying, Merchandising, Marketing, Digital, Retail Operations, and other functions to understand decision-making processes, reporting challenges, and analytics requirements.
- Elicit, Analyse & Document Requirements using workshops, interviews, process mapping, and business analysis techniques, translating business needs into user stories, process maps, data flow diagrams, acceptance criteria, and functional documentation.
- Assess Current & Future-State Processes by documenting business workflows, decision points, data ownership, reporting dependencies, controls, and change impacts, while helping establish trusted, governed, and usable data across the organisation.
- Collaborate Across Delivery Teams by working closely with Project Managers, SMEs, Solution Architects, Data Engineers, Analytics Teams, Data Governance Leads, and Change Managers to prioritise, validate, and deliver business requirements successfully.
- Enable Successful Adoption & Delivery through requirements traceability, risk identification, testing and UAT support, business readiness activities, stakeholder engagement, knowledge transfer, and the creation of clear documentation that supports long-term adoption of data, analytics, and reporting solutions.

- Degree qualified or equivalent experience, with 3+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst within data, technology, analytics, or business transformation environments.
- Proven ability to gather, analyse, and document business requirements, translating stakeholder needs into clear user stories, functional requirements, process maps, and delivery-ready outputs.
- Strong understanding of business processes, decision-making frameworks, data flows, reporting ecosystems, and operational dependencies, with the ability to identify improvements and drive business value.
- Experience working on Data & Analytics, Business Intelligence, reporting, data platform, data governance, or enterprise transformation initiatives, supported by knowledge of data ownership, quality, lineage, and integration principles.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to influence, challenge constructively, and build trusted relationships across business teams, technology functions, delivery partners, and senior leadership.
