Supply Chain Planning Leader

Job Summary: The Supply Chain Planner Leader is responsible for managing four employees with scope covering: scheduling, plant production planning, outside processing planning, master data and inventory accuracy. This role is intended to be a generalist who will learn all job functions reporting to them so that the Planning Leader can back up each function as required, as well as support growth projects to improve the overall tools and processes within scope of this role.
Planning activities are critical to meeting customer demand while achieving the most effective loading of the plant’s equipment, thereby maximizing the production efficiency and effectiveness. The goals are to achieve customer satisfaction through consistently high on-time delivery and effective communication; to optimize process cycle time, inventory turnover, converter and logistics costs.
Responsibilities
- Manage schedule of team responsible for planning / scheduling the Bowling Green plant to ensure all critical tasks are covered daily
- Lead scheduling process for the plant
- Lead plant production planning
- Lead outside processor planning
- Support forecasting and capacity planning with outside processors
- Learn and back up all roles which report to this position
- Lead improvement activities related to the tools and processes of all roles which report to this position
- Support continued team development within Supply Chain
General Accountabilities

- Communication with Suppliers for Raw Materials
- Back up Supply Chain Manager as needed
- Other duties and projects as may be reasonably expected Lead scheduling process for the plant
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- 1-3 Years of experience in Supply Chain or related field required
- 5 Years of experience in Manufacturing Metals, preferably aluminum is preferred
- Demonstration of analytical, organizational, and communication skills in a highly computerized environment is required
- Lean and Six Sigma Tools knowledge is required
- Advanced computer skills are required
