About the role

MECA Therapies LLC is looking for a Physical Therapist (PT) to join our professional team. 

 

MECA Therapies is the largest pediatric rehabilitation provider in the state of New Mexico. Our mission is to strive every day towards ensuring that our families and their children have access to the highest quality of care in the communities we serve. 

 

The Physical Therapist provides services to include evaluation and treatment to individuals of all ages based on diagnosed conditions. These services will be conducted within a variety of environments within home and community settings.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:

·         Doctorate in Physical Therapy or other previously approved degree level.

·         Licensure from The NM Physical Therapy Licensing Board

 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:        

·         Knowledge and experience in the field of Physical Therapy

·         Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Windows

·         Proficient organizational and record keeping skills

·         Effective oral and written communication

·         Excellent interpersonal and teaming skills

·         Ability to train clients, family members, and professionals 

·         Exercise a high level of confidentiality

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The PT will operate within Local, State and Federal Regulations as well as adhere to all MECA policies and procedures. Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:

1.    Administer standardized assessment tests within their professional scope of practice.

2.    Develop appropriate and thorough recommendations.

3.    Present diagnostic findings completely and accurately.

4.    Write evaluation reports with technical accuracy.

5.    Seek out appropriate information from medical and/or other resources as needed to implement treatment strategies.

6.    Develop theoretically sound plans describing objectives and procedures for treatment.

7.    Select appropriate stimulus materials and treatment modalities for age and ability of the client.

8.    Give clear concise instructions in presenting materials and/or techniques in therapy.

9.    Record and track daily progress accurately.

10. Utilize time in session efficiently to meet objectives.

11. Provide accurate and immediate feedback to the person served and/or family.

12. Plan for discharge of the person served.   

13. Participate in the interview process for prospective employees as deemed necessary.

14. Attend TTCM’s, IFSP’s, Periodic Reviews, Annual Reviews and Transition meetings as required

15.  Fulfill Team Lead duties for a select number of children on assigned caseload

 

CASELOAD ASSIGNMENTS

The PT will be assigned a weekly caseload from the respective program director for each program they serve by.

  • Carrying a caseload of 30 clients per week, equating to 1392 direct therapy visits per year or part time equivalent.
  • Adjustments to caseloads are made in collaboration with the respective program director(s)
  • Adjustments to caseloads/clinic hours are made in collaboration with the respective program dire
