Description
Euro-Mediterranean Research Network on Migration (EuroMedMig) is an independent interdisciplinary research network on Migrations in the Mediterranean. It is a platform of researchers promoting multilateral knowledge production and exchange both between Universities and with Policy and Social actors. The core mission is to contribute to the development of Mediterranean Migration Studies away from Eurocentric and simplistic lenses, and to foster Mediterranean Thinking in the migration research agenda by advancing epistemological endeavours on how migrations contribute to Mediterranean region-building.
The project coordinator is responsible for the following:
- The coordination of all project activities (i.e. agenda and implementation)
- The coordination of the PhD community and project partners
- The reporting of activities and dissemination strategies
- The assistance of research activities
- Support for GRITIM-UPF coordination.
- Fundraising for international and national projects.

Terms and conditions of the contract
Salary (gross): 23.279,32 €/year
Job Location: Barcelona, Spain.
Type of Contract – Contract for scientific and technical activities. Indefinite according to the provisions of article 23 bis of the Llei 14/2011, del 1 de juny, de la ciència, la tecnologia i la de innovació.

Part time (25h/w), 1-year renewable up to the expected finalization date of the Project (February 2029).
Note: The intended starting date of the contract is aprox. 1st March 2025
Qualifications
Requirements to be fulfilled by the candidates
General:
Candidates are expected to have obtained a Master's degree in Migration Studies (or similar) within the last five years, or a Ph.D. in a related field within the last three years, with a focus on Mediterranean-related migration research.
Candidates will be expected to travel to the partner country and coordinate activities.
Specific qualifications:
1. Proficiency in English (and French/Arabic is advantageous).
2. Prior experience in international projects is desirable.
3. Evidence of interest in Mediterranean migration is required.
These participation requirements must be fulfilled on the first day of the deadline for submitting applications, must be able to be accredited at any time during the selection process and must continue to be fulfilled on the date of signing the contract.
Additional qualifications (Note: candidates will be given preference based on these qualifications)
- Proficiency in conducting international-level projects.
- Superior English writing capabilities (native language is an advantage)
- Proficiency in reporting and event organisation for conferences and symposia.
- Capacity to utilise website functionality in a pioneering manner, as well as social networks.
