Job Description:
Shift Hours: 11:30 am - 8 pm with rotating weekends and holidays off.

This class series represents labor and trades work completed in the area of
housekeeping. Work involves a variety of tasks associated in the maintenance
and upkeep of, interiors and exteriors of buildings and facilities.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: (A position is assigned to this class based on the scope and level of work performed as outlined below.) This is work as an entry-level to semi-skilled building laborer or tradesperson in the performance of custodial/janitorial or housekeeping work. Work is typically labor intensive and requires close to general supervision in the areas of custodial/housekeeping.
General cleaning of floors, various areas and surface types.
Cleaning and maintenance of hallways and public areas. Chemical safety and use. Work safely to ensure your safety and the safety of others. Collection and disposal of trash. Improve knowledge, skills, and abilities, adapt to change and be of service to others. Attend in services and training sessions. Develop continuous quality improvement habits and encourage and assist others in their professional development. Other duties to fulfill the mission of CNVH, the needs of members, guests and staff, such as any assigned duty of an emergency nature and assisting other departments in the accomplishment of their assignments as staffing allows.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: No specific education, training, or experience is required for entry to this class.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Knowledge of: commercial cleaning practices, equipment, supplies and techniques. Skill in: building cleaning equipment; basic computer skills including competency in the use of email.
Ability to: Communicate effectively; safely mix cleaning solutions to proper proportions using concentrated cleaning agents for a variety of surfaces; work independently or as a team; move around to work safely, lift and move lightweight objects; use common cleaning tools, lightweight vacuum cleaners and industrial equipment; maintain care and use of supplies, equipment, etc.; work among hostile, emotionally upset, disabled and geriatric members; read label directions, precautions and hazards.
