SUMMARY

K-12 Content Lead Under general supervision, coordinates and leads MPS CTE program, including CTE frameworks alignment, course design and delivery, assessment and professional development. Supports the District's Strategic Plan with specific emphasis on promoting academic achievement for all learners through career related learning.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS -- Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: • Facilitates the implementation of the MPS MDE approved CTE courses, with specific leadership in Work-based Learning programming. • Implements practices and strategies that increase student enrollment in CTE courses while reducing/eliminating racial disparities in student outcome and course enrollments. • Develops CTE programming accountability benchmarks and assess individual and team performance against those benchmarks. • Develops, coordinates and delivers professional development and related services to CTE • Increases MPS staff, student, caregiver, and community awareness of CTE programs and achievement levels of students, and gain support for the District’s initiatives. • Develops and monitors CTE budgets and grants in collaboration with Executive Director of Academic Programs, CTE Director, and CTE Principal. • Supports Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) model of differentiated 

 

• Facilitates the implementation of the MN STEM/CTE standards and tiered instruction and ensuring equitable access to instructional materials. 
• • Implements practices and strategies that reduce/eliminate racial disparities in student outcome and course enrollments.
• • Leads process of creating/adopting instructional materials which support standardsbased teaching and learning and integration of content. 
• • Develops accountability benchmarks and assess individual and team performance against those benchmarks.
• • Develops, coordinates and delivers professional development and related services content teachers, principals, and other school and district staff.
• • Implements practices and strategies that reduce/eliminate racial disparities in student outcome and course enrollments.
• • Increases parent and community awareness of Math & Science programs and achievement levels of students, and gain support for the District’s initiatives. 
• • Develops and monitors Literacy budget.
• • Supports Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) model of differentiated instruction and tiered intervention processes.
• • Leads teams inclusive of all stakeholders in developing, vetting, and revising integrated units of study and interim, formative, and summative assessments.
• • Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with students, clients, visitors, and MPS staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment
• • Enthusiastically promotes the Superintendent’s goals and priorities in compliance with all policies and procedures.
• • Maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, records and MPS information.
• • Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis
• • At times may be required to work outside normal business hours and work extended hours to accomplish requirements of the position.
