About the role

We are a distributor of automotive wraps and other car-care accessories, selling primarily through our e-commerce site. 
We are looking to hire an Accounting Manager with extensive QuickBooks Online (“QBO”) experience to own daily bookkeeping tasks, generate monthly GAAP-based financial statements, and perform all other ad-hoc accounting- and finance-related tasks and analyses. The vast majority of sales transactions run through the Shopify platform; Shopify experience is required.

What you'll do

• Reconcile daily bank activity for four bank accounts 
• Post daily Shopify activity into QBO—revenue and expenses
• Post/reconcile activity from PayPal into QBO
• Post/reconcile transactional details from Amazon Seller Central into QBO
• Manage the end-to-end accounts payable function: coding and posting of vendor bills and cash disbursements
• Review/post business credit card activity
• Ensure appropriate inventory and COGS tracking in the financial statements, reconciling month end balances to the inventory management system
• Post payroll transactions and miscellaneous accruals on monthly basis
• Maintain asset depreciation and amortization schedules
• Manage the annual budgeting process
• Prepare 1099's
• Generate monthly GAAP-based financial statements
• Manage sales tax filings/remittances
• Generate ad-hoc reports for members of management/various stakeholders

Qualifications

• Two years of public accounting experience (audit practice)
• Prior experience with Amazon Seller Central
• Prior experience with Shopify
• Experience generating GAAP-based financial statements
• Experience in small business environment, owning all aspects of accounting and reporting
• Intermediate level skills with MS Excel (pivot tables, Vlookups, report formatting)
• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance

Physical Requirements

• Travel up to 15% of the time.
• Work from office (Sterling Heights, MI)
• Ability to focus on computer monitors for extended periods
• May work from a seated position for extended periods
