Morgan Stanley Capital Partners (MSCP) is a leading middle-market private equity platform focused on direct control investments in North America. The team currently invests out of their 8th fund.
MSCP focus is on value creation through management and operational improvements, value-added oversight, strategic add-on acquisitions and thoughtful capitalization. MSCP invests in control transactions via founder-led recapitalizations, growth equity investments, management buyouts, corporate carve-outs and platform builds. Throughout their history, they have maintained a consistent middle-market focus, investing in companies across a broad range of industries with enterprise values from $200 million to $750 million and EBITDA from $10 million to $70 million.
This position would offer broad exposure across various verticals inclusive of business services, industrials, consumer, healthcare, and education
Responsibilities:
Capital Partners is looking for an experienced private equity Associate to work directly with senior investors and decision-makers and serve as key contributors throughout the lifecycle of investing, including the evaluation of investment opportunities, conducting in-depth sector analysis, developing and analyzing financial projections, models and valuations, and monitoring portfolio companies post investment (including review of data and performing analyses).
Specifically, MSCP is looking for an Associate able to help in the following areas across each vertical:
- Conduct research on macro themes, investment ideas, and target assets
- Analyze and interpret data to identify relationships and trends. Evaluate sources of information to determine any limitations. Develop reports, including graphs, charts, and tables as outputs, containing the results of statistical and other analyses
- Build financial models leveraging data and statistical analysis for company projection and transaction scenarios
- Produce investment memoranda and support materials on investment opportunities
- Present statistical and nonstatistical results and analyses to internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinate with advisors and consultants on due diligence items including review of data, statistical and non-statistical analyses
- Track prospective deals
- Monitor the performance of portfolio companies including reviewing data and performing statistical and other analyses to support operations
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably a combination of investment banking and private equity
- Experience evaluating and synthesizing statistical data and presenting data in reports. Particular experience in modelling and leveraging data to inform inputs
- Ability to learn quickly and interact well with others
- Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a team player attitude
- Superior level of attention to detail
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present statistical and nonstatistical results and analyses
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
Ability to handle multiple assignments at once and meet associated deadlines important to succeed
