Role Description

As our Staff Technical Program Manager, specializing in Enterprise Network Engineering, you’ll get the exciting opportunity to do a little bit of everything. In this role, you’ll need to be a strong program manager, driving projects with cross-functional partners to deliver results, while also thinking strategically and defining roadmaps / solutions. Given our technical needs, you’ll leverage your background  in network engineering and networking hardware everyday.

You’ll use these skills to:

  • Lead the migration of existing lab space and fitout of new lab space
  • Lead the design, delivery and maintenance of high-performance, low latency, high availability enterprise Internet connectivity. This will include establishing connectivity standards, working across multiple vendors to deliver service to our corporate locations, creating proper in-house networking routing and hardware ecosystems (working closely with IT to support in-office video conferencing, telephony, etc.)
  • Work across our Real Estate Ops team, IT Team, Security team and Office Leads to execute on the design, delivery and maintenance of on-premises access control, video surveillance, intrusion, alarm & detection and other security equipment / protocols.
  • Run projects to launch new business/ops-critical systems and tools.

Across these projects, your primary role will be to ensure that the projects you are overseeing are completed on time and in alignment with the requirements.

There may also be some instances where you will leverage your technical subject matter expertise to develop technical roadmaps or strategies in partnership with key cross-functional partners — which you will then TPM to completion.

In this role, you'll:

  • Lead the cross-functional requirement-gathering, design, and solution development of GFiber’s enterprise network, test engineering lab  and on-prem security infrastructure.
  • Facilitate the delivery of the enterprise network and on-prem security to all offices, lab spaces and retail locations — including fitouts of in-office networking equipment (servers, switches, firewalls, WiFi access points, etc.) and security equipment (access control, video surveillance, intrusion, alarm & detection and more)
  • Establish contracts, SLAs and operations with third-party vendors contracted for the monitoring and troubleshooting of network and security  services. Facilitate the escalation of issues requiring GFiber engineering and operational assistance with the vendors including coordination of planned maintenance, adjusting/upgrading hardware components and responding to network connectivity issues.
  • Create and publish network, mechanical, and electrical engineering design documents, specifications as well as performance network performance standards.
  • Support design, configuration, and launch of new business/ops-critical systems and tools.

At a minimum we'd like you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with network communications, routing protocols, networking hardware, design and troubleshooting.
  • 10 years of experience with planning and designing networks (e.g., multiple sites, multiple products, etc.).
  • Direct experience designing and building corporate lab facilities.
  • Ability to work non-standard working including nights and on-call responsibilities.
