We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Field Trial Technician within our Product Testing capability. This position reports to the Director, Product Testing, Regulatory & Compliance and will work in Elkhart, IN.

About the position

As a Field Trial Technician in the Product Testing team, you will be responsible for the setup, execution, and monitoring of field trials aimed at evaluating product performance in real-world conditions, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and identifying areas for improvement. This role will also conduct field audits, gather data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.

Your main responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain products in laboratory and field trial environments.
  • Conduct on-site audits of field trials to assess product performance and durability.
  • Gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative data from field tests.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify potential product issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product development, and customer feedback teams to refine product designs.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of audit procedures, results, and recommendations.
  • Travel to various locations to oversee product testing in diverse environments.

A suitable background would be a solid experience within mechanical applications and customer interactions – as well as the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree, or higher, in engineering, quality assurance, or a related field preferred.
  • Certifications: RV, automotive, and/or similar certification preferred.
  • Experience: Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude; experience working hands on with applicable tools and measurement devices necessary.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple field trials simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in data collection tools and audit methodologies.
  • Willingness to travel extensively for field evaluations.
  • Experience in outdoor, marine, or RV product testing, preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO quality standards and regulatory compliance, preferred.
  • Familiarity with Dometic Corporation’s product lines and industry trends, preferred.
