The brake hardware design group supports the development of the overall brake system by providing engineering support required for the brake mechanics.

Job Description

Engineer responsible for the development of an electro-mechanical brake (EMB) assembly. The successful candidate will work with an active global cross functional team dedicated to managing of the EMB assembly and component design including key functional interfaces, establishing performance requirements and documentation, and evaluating manufacturing feasibility. The scope of the position involves the design, validation, and release of the respective EMB assembly and components with focus on the adaption to a vehicle application.

Qualifications

Required

  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering
  • 5+ years of automotive work experience
  • Experience working with automotive braking systems and related subsystems

Preferred

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree preferred
  • Experience with the design and performance of disc brake caliper assemblies
  • Experience with the application of GD&T on assembly and component drawings
  • Experience with materials (e.g. metals, plastics, & rubbers) as it pertains to mechanical properties and related manufacturing processes (e.g. raw materials, machining, casting, stamping, molding, etc.)
  • Experience with collaborating and managing the suppliers involved within the value chain of the caliper assembly
  • Knowledge of the application and interpretation of CAE simulation results
  • Knowledge of project management tools to ensure on time delivery at milestones
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible work style that enables working independently and within multiple teams
