We have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Benefits Consultant to join the Corporate Benefits team. This role comes with a hybrid work schedule, including both remote/home-based work and office-based work at our downtown Indianapolis location.

As a senior benefits consultant, you will partner with stakeholders to successfully execute business objectives. Manage benefits programs and policies to ensure compliance and alignment with IU Health’s strategy. Analyze and report benefits metrics using Oracle, vendor systems, and Excel. Recommend and implement improvements to benefits programs, services, and processes. Work independently and provides guidance to leaders, HR partners, and team members regarding benefits programs and policies.

Designs, develops, and implements benefits and retirement programs. Recommends and implements improvements to programs, services and processes. Researches and analyzes program design alternatives and tests proposals prior to implementation. Develops, compares, and standardizes all benefits, followed by an annual review process. Consults with management, human resources personnel, and employees regarding benefits and retirement programs and policies. Interacts with internal and external resources to ensure proper program/policy design and ongoing administration which complies with legal and contractual requirements.

Preferred qualifications:

Strong analytical skills with the ability to capture the essence of complex information.

Strong problem-solving skills; attention to detail; ability to self-direct with minimal supervision, problem solve, demonstrate judgement, and work well under pressure.

High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Nursing, related field, or equivalent years of experience.
• Requires 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• Requires experience in the design; development; and administration of benefits and/or retirement programs.
• Requires knowledge and understanding of benefits programs and policies.
• Requires ability to apply and understand a variety of technical regulations and laws (e.g. ; ERISA; COBRA; ADA; FMLA; etc.).
• Requires experience with matrix organization and complex work environment.
• Requires basic proficiency in MS office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
