Property Maintenance Specialist

Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Housekeeping Duties: 

• Clean and sanitize residents’ rooms, public areas, restrooms, and shower rooms 
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean carpets and windows 
• Empty trash cans, replace them with clean bags and pick up trash and debris 
• Maintain hazard-free work areas and adhere to safety protocols 
• Attend required in-services and training sessions 

Groundskeeping Duties: 

• Mow lawns, trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls 
• Plant flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes; apply fertilizer and pesticides 
• Clean debris and shovel snow from entranceways 
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance on groundskeeping equipment 
• Install lawn furniture, rock, cement, lighting, and water features 
• Maintain clean and organized outdoor areas 

Maintenance Duties: 

• Perform minor carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs 
• Install windows, doors, and other fixtures 
• Prepare lawns by seeding, transplanting, and pruning trees 
• Adjust and repair equipment, including toilets, wheelchairs, beds, motors, and lawn equipment 
• Run errands for parts and supplies 
• On-call duties for snow removal and other emergency

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent 
• Previous related experience in housekeeping, groundskeeping, or maintenance 
• Valid chauffeur's license (not commercial) preferred; good driving record required 
• Pleasant and positive personality, well-groomed appearance, dependable, and safety-conscious
