About the role

JOB SUMMARY:  To provide a variety of accounting services specializing in the Fixed Asset area to the Security Division.  Liaison with Region Controllers and managers to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting of Fixed Assets.

  • Perform account reconciliations, rollforwards and analysis on balance sheet and income statement accounts related to Fixed Assets while applying accounting principles.
  • Perform week-to-week maintenance of Fixed Assets including the recording of additions, transfers, adjustments, retirements and other related items as required to maintain the system.
  • Actively participate in and perform month-end Fixed Asset closing procedures and certain Prepaid accounts that are managed via the Fixed Asset system.
  • Preparation of schedules to assist with quarterly HFM reporting.
  • Present Fixed Asset Flux analysis of results for the quarterly close.
  • Research and resolve field office inquiries on financial statements.
  • Interface with field personnel in a professional and responsive manner.
  • Act as back-up for various key weekly and monthly Oracle processes.
  • Prepare year-end Tax Package schedules as required by the Corporate Tax department.
  • Prepare year-end audit schedules for outside auditors.
  • Special projects as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position.
Education/Experience:   • College degree (BS) – Accounting major  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.   Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing): • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form. • Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact at all levels within an organization. • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel and Word. • Oracle experience preferred • Experience in IFRS16 Lease accounting a plus. • Excellent organization and time management skills, with ability to multi-task. • Collaborates. Team player.   Working Conditions and Physical/Mental Demands: With or without reasonable accommodation, a candidate must have the physical and mental capacity to effectively perform all essential functions described.  In addition to other demands, the demands of the job include: • During year end close process in January, Saturdays could be required. • During monthly close process, which encompasses portions of two weeks of each month, attendance is mandatory. • Maintaining composure in dealing with executives, clients, staff and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations. • Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey. • Handling and being exposed to sensitive and confidential information. • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds. • Computer usage • Frequent sitting
