About the role
Meta seeks a product attorney with an understanding of the payments landscape to join our Monetization Legal Team. You will be supporting product teams that are working on our most relevant cross-Meta payments products and services. This role will require significant cross-functional collaboration with product, partnerships, engineering, policy, operations, and business teams, as well as other legal and compliance subject-matter experts, as you help shape the future of payment products worldwide. $167,000/year to $233,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

- Review new products, features and initiatives across multiple jurisdictions by assessing payment-related legal risks while providing practical legal advice to product, business and legal stakeholders across Meta
- Provide legal advice to help develop a comprehensive, long-term approach to launching payment products and programs globally
- Administration and resolution of legal issues and risks that arise in existing and new payment products by developing strategies and driving leadership alignment
- Maintain experience in payments and evaluate impact of relevant laws and regulations on Meta’s payments products
- Demonstrate business judgment and client counseling skills
- J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent)
- Active membership in at least one US state bar and eligibility to obtain registered in-house counsel status (if required by the State Bar in the assigned work location)
- 5+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience
- Demonstrate business judgment and client counseling skills
- Effective communication skills
- Experience advising on payments-related legal risks and mitigations
- Experience working on multiple projects at once
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Experience making decisions in the face of ambiguity and evolving priorities
- Demonstrated business judgment, willingness to provide practical solutions, and client counseling experience
- Demonstrated experience in understanding technology
- Experience advancing projects in a multi-stakeholder environment
- Experience demonstrating business judgment and practical counseling skills In-house experience with applicable product counseling
- Experience prioritizing work and providing advice under deadlines
- Experience with understanding technology
