Description
Position Overview:
The Human Resource Coordinator aids with and facilitates the human resource processes at all business locations. This role will assist the Human Resource Team with complex and specialized administrative tasks including reviewing job applications from prospective employees, managing and overseeing employee records, generate reports, administer employee health and welfare plans. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
- Maintains employee records, ensuring completion and accuracy of details such as employee contact information, job classification, pay rates, organizational structure, and other key details.
- Maintains accurate records of active job openings and received applications; manages internal and external job postings
- Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status of candidates in HRIS; reviews applications for open positions; conducts and/or schedules preliminary interviews.
- Performs administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to staffing changes, which may include transfers, pay changes, resignations, terminations, and extended leaves of absence.
- Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
- Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks.
- Assists with the administration of employee benefits, which may include collecting and submitting employee information and notice of change in status to health, dental, life, disability, and other insurance carriers or insurance brokers.
- Supports company-wide information meetings such as open enrollment, new hire orientation, and meetings to announce or discuss changes in retirement or benefits plans.
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as employee engagement activities, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
- Assists with performance management which may include processing of terminations, drafting and delivering corrective actions, assisting in performance review process.
- Files documents into appropriate employee files. Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
- Processes mail and assists with verification of employment correspondence.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements

- Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.

- Integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related business field and/or equivalent experience.
- At least two years related experience required.
- SHRM-CP credential preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.
Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
Other: Requires occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds unassisted. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
