Your Key Responsibilities
- Plans, initiates, coordinates and monitors business relations with dedicated suppliers, for the Americas and their respective categories.
- Create market analyses and implement category strategies.
- Define/Collaborate with Corporate and/or regional peers profitable purchasing/sourcing strategies and effective supply chains providing the lowest total landed costs.
- Monitor Global Materials Markets continuously and manage/optimize the supplier portfolio in terms of ensuring quality, cost, on-time-delivery, sustainability, compliance, with all laws and regulations.
- Negotiate prices and conditions in the context of SMA and manage, maintain all current supplier contracts and supplier documentation suplied with suppliers.
- Coordinate and steer assigned category incl. purchase price planning and define saving projects.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain Mgmt and/or Industrial/Mfig/Mechanical Engineering is required.
- External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment VISA or other sponsorship
- Minimum of 5 yrs or more working in purchasing as part of Automotive Tier 1 or Aftermarket Manufacturing organization is required
- Strong Cost analysis, Project Management,Negotiation, and Problem Solving Skills
- Experienced successfully leading and managing cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated sourcing and purchasing experience in one or more of the build to print categories:
- Powdered Metal / Sintered Iron (highly preferred)
- Castings and Forgings (preferred)
- Extrusions – Long Drawn/Bar (preferred)
- HR and CR Single Hit and Fine Blanked Parts
- Machined Components
- Bearings and Seals
- Tracking, Monitoring and Analysis of key material indexes. CRU, AMM, LME etc.
- Defining global strategies for each category
