About the role

Boston Scientific’s broader Cardiovascular Finance and Accounting Group is responsible for recording, reporting, and analyzing financial transactions. The company is looking for a self-motivated, well organized, analytical, detail-oriented individual to assist in the monthly close accounting process. The individual should possess strong communication skills, the ability to work with cross-functional teams, and a proven ability to manage concurrent projects in a fast paced, challenging environment and be eager to contribute to the success of the department and the company.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical accounting support for capital equipment and service revenue recognition and leasing; participating in research, implementation, and monitoring activities
- Compiling and analyzing financial information through preparation of reports, general ledger entries, and account reconciliations for the monthly financial close process and quarterly disclosure process
- Establishing and communicating accounting policies by maintaining a thorough understanding of GAAP and new accounting guidance as appropriate
- Proactively identifying business risks and providing recommendations to mitigate
- Taking an active interest in seeking opportunities for continuous improvement, leveraging systems and capabilities to find new efficiencies
- Working to deliver upon key performance metrics and service levels agreed with business partners
- Preparing balance sheet reporting package and providing meaningful commentary
- Maintaining internal control environment and assisting with regular SOX documentation and testing requirements
- Supporting internal and external audits
What we’re looking for:
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5+ years’ relevant experience
- Detail oriented
- Focused on integrity, respecting others, and being part of a team
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams – either autonomously or in a consultative role
- Inquisitive and takes an active interest in opportunities to improve the efficiency of work
- Proficiency in Microsoft office applications, SAP, and Hyperion; or equivalent applications
Preferred qualifications:
- Combination of Audit and Industry Accounting experience
- ASC 606 and 842 knowledge
- CPA
