Worth, Texas, to build a career that touches lives.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span><strong>How you’ll contribute </strong></span></p> <p><span>A Behavioral Health Technician<strong> </strong>who excels in this role:</span></p> <p><span> </span></p> <ul> <li><span>Provide patient care tasks delegated by the RN, including taking vital signs, collecting specimens, documenting care, facilitating group education, and monitoring patients.</span></li> <li><span>Demonstrate effective milieu management and accompany patients to meals, breaks, off‑unit visits, and appointments.</span></li> <li><span>Report medical or psychiatric changes to the RN and assist with admissions, including belongings inventory, visitation, and vital signs.</span></li> <li><span>Document property at admission and discharge, conduct safety checks, and promote a clean, therapeutic environment.</span></li> <li><span>Encourage patients with activities of daily living and facilitate or co‑facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic groups.</span></li> <li><span>Apply crisis intervention and de‑escalation techniques and maintain knowledge of program policies and procedures.</span></li> <li><span>Provide orientation and mentorship to new staff members, serve as a preceptor, and train colleagues on group facilitation and maintaining a therapeutic milieu.</span></li> <li><span>Employ therapeutic communication, assess patient needs related to chemical dependency, and document plans of care from admission through discharge.</span></li> <li><span>Participate in treatment planning as part of the interdisciplinary team and perform other duties as assigned.</span></li> <li><span>Serves as a member of the planning team under RN direction and acts as a resource and role model for other staff.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span><strong>What we’re looking for</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>High school degree or GED preferred.</li> <li>Minimum of one year of experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.</li> <li>Will require valid driver’s license and a favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), along with proof of insurance when using personal or hospital owned vehicle.</li> <li>CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact. <br/> Must be at least 21 years of age. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span><strong>Schedule: 3x12, Days (7a-7p) <u>or</u> 3x12, Nights (7p-7a)</strong></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span><strong>Why join us </strong></span></p> <p>People are our passion and purpose.
