In collaboration with the System Manager of Learning Strategy & Program, the Clinical Education Manager oversees and leads the clinical programs, activities and clinical teammates in the Clinical Education department to increase the capabilities and performance of the hospital and its services. Leads and coordinates clinical orientation, clinical education, simulation education, and other clinical education programs. Oversees the delivery of courses for various certifications, using a variety of training mediums to meet the needs of clinical education. Plays a major role in the development of teammates, compliance with regulatory and professional standards, and the fostering of collaborative interdisciplinary relationships within the areas of responsibility and the organization as a whole. 

JOB DUTIES

Essential Duties

•Prioritizes who, what, when, where, why and how clinical education is delivered at SVH.

•Provides leadership and oversight for the clinical simulation program, including the simulation lab, simulators, RQI, and related simulation education.

•Provides leadership and oversight for clinical orientation, ongoing clinical education, and education special projects.

•In collaboration with the System Manager of Learning Strategy and Programs, drives the team toward innovative approaches to the development and delivery of clinical education.

•Interfaces closely with clinical leadership to insure the timely and appropriate delivery of education to the staff.

•Provides growth opportunities and accountability for the team of Clinical Educators.

Marginal Job Duties

•Facilitates and promotes collaboration across the clinical education team.

•Monitors financial aspects of essential functions and assigned areas of responsibility and reports regularly to System Manager.

•Leads Performance Excellence (Lean) efforts within the department.

•Functions as a change agent and leader, and effectively facilitates group processes.

•Implements motivational strategies at the individual, group, program, and organizational levels.

•Uses organizational strategic plan and goals to determine educational priorities.

•Develops financial plans that allocate resources to support education and development.

Education

•Bachelor's Degree (Nursing)                                                                                     Required

•Master's Degree                                                                                                            Preferred

 Work Experience

•3 years               Experience in training and development/teaching.           Required

•2 years               Leadership experience.                                                                 Required

Experience developing high performing teams.Required

Lean or other performance improvement experience.     Preferred
