Job Purpose
The individual in this role is responsible for performing a multitude of tasks and responsibilities relative to Human Resources.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Recruitment for hourly skilled and unskilled positions
o Conduct interviews & make offers
o Communicate with direct hire recruiter when needed for candidates
• Manage all temporary worker assignments through ACRO & Timecards
o Communicate the termination of temporary staff
o Facilitate all temp conversions to Dana direct hires
• Conduct onboarding and orientation for all new hires
o Ensure background checks and drug tests are completed
o Assist employees with all new hire paperwork, setting up direct deposit, etc.
o Enter all new hire data into all Dana systems & ensure all changes in EC database replicate correctly
o Create employee badges and set up badge security
o Coordinate and schedule all presenters
o Oversee new hire follow-up and 30/60/85-day performance appraisals
• Update and maintain the hourly manning for the plant on a daily basis
• Conduct terminations
• Create and maintain personnel files
• Manage all shift bumps
• Prepare & post attendance points
• Customer service to employees for issues
• Maintain favorable & effective relations with the union representatives
• Gather documentation & assist with responses to grievances, charges or other complaints
• Conduct investigations as needed
• Maintain hourly medical and training records.
• Calculate & prepare monthly metrics
• Track & report daily headcount numbers and absenteeism
• Lead the Easy Training Tracker for hourly stage training
• Review/approve weekly indemnity payments, as well as other invoices for fees and services.
• Participate in employee morale events
• Assist the HR Manager with any other assignments or projects
• Work as a team with the entire HR department and help as needed
Education Required/Preferred:
• Equivalent to appropriate four-year college degree program.
• Minimum of two to four years of professional level Human Resources experience in two or more of the areas outlined.
• PHR or SPHR Certifications preferred; willingness to take classes and testing in one or more of these areas required.
Competencies:
• Prior experience in a position requiring a high degree of confidentiality.
• Prior experience with a union environment preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication and counseling skills.
• Good organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
• Effective time management skills.
• Demonstrated problem-solving experience.
• Ability to motivate and lead others by example.
• Maintain a positive attitude and keep a level head in stressful situations.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain accurate records.
• Computer proficiency including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work in a team environment within the department and company.
