Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
The RIM Engineering team is responsible for the development and optimization of Maintenance Strategies for new Reactor Designs. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for:
Work Planning & Execution:
- Develop and manage teamwork plans aligned with 13-week rolling schedules and near-term task assignments
- Allocate resources and assign work to team members based on skills, capacity, and development opportunities
- Monitor project execution and technical deliverables; ensure scope, quality, and on-time delivery (OTD) against SQDC priorities (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost)
- Conduct in-process reviews of technical work for scope and quality; facilitate post-job critiques and share learnings with the broader team
- Perform & Communicate risk management & mitigation for assigned work
Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical leadership on complex RIM engineering issues; understand how maintenance strategy work (FMEA, RCM, asset optimization) fits together across the portfolio
- Possess sufficient technical familiarity with maintenance strategy programs and processes to guide team execution, quality-check deliverables, and escalate risks early
- Work with the manager on scoping decisions and risk management; communicate and mitigate technical and schedule risks
- Serve as backup for the manager as needed
- Provide input to the Manager on individual contributor performance
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Facilitate communication between RIM team members and across other engineering groups (e.g., design, systems engineering, procurement)
- Work on technical issues within the team and across teams as necessary
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Discipline (such as Nuclear, Mechanical, or related field) from an accredited college or university
- At least 8 years of progressive experience related to commercial Nuclear Plant Maintenance, Operations, PRA, Reliability Programs, asset management, or system design engineering
Eligibility Requirements
- For US: The preferred work locations for this role are: GVH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC, U.S., or U.S. Based Hub such as Atlanta, GA.
- For Canada: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening.
- For Canada: This position will report onsite to the Markham office 3 days a week.
- This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
Desired Qualifications

- Familiarity with maintenance engineering concepts (preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, RCM principles, FMEA)
- Ability to understand technical complexity across multiple domains

- Excellent communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
