THE COMPANY

Our Seguin, Texas location is seeking a highly self-motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Process Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate has excellent problem-solving skills and experience with industrial automation equipment and processes.


 

THE POSITION

  • The Process Engineer is responsible for multiple pieces of manufacturing equipment and their respective process. In this role the individual will:
  • Be responsible for manufacturing equipment and process.
    • Monitor equipment performance
    • Respond to production equipment breakdowns, help diagnose faults, determine root cause and repair
    • Support day-to-day manufacturing process issues.
    • Give direction to maintenance technicians on troubleshooting and repairing machinery
    • Prepare and maintain process documentation: setup matrix / parameter cards / work instructions / process guides
    • Prepare and maintain equipment documentation: setup, schematics, operating guides, spare parts lists, troubleshooting guides, maintenance procedures.
    • Select components for industrial automation with the purpose of repairing, modifying, and improving equipment.
    • Plan and conduct process characterizations
    • Implement corrective actions
    • Lead and drive activities and projects to improve OEE, MTBF, MTTR, scrap and FPY via problem solving and process optimization
    • Advanced manufacturing line problem solving related to manufacturing process related defects.
    • Planning and undertaking scheduled equipment maintenance
    • Perform equipment and process setup and validation
    • Work with cross functional teams (Production, Maintenance, Quality, Industrial Engineering, IT)
    • Participate in meetings (daily & weekly)
    • Provide updates on actions
    • Provide feedback on equipment and process related topics
    • Design & implement equipment modifications (mechanical, electrical & software)
    • Work with suppliers (automation, machine shops, component vendors, reps)
  • Become a process expert, capable of making parameter changes and improvements.
  • Become knowledgeable of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.  
  • Learn to collect, record, process, analyze and transcribe data and show results in reports.
  • Support the introduction of new models and products into assembly line:
    • Develop and procure tooling
    • Equipment modifications and setup
    • Process setup and validation
    • Documentation update
  • Support TPM program by providing mentoring and training to peers, technicians, and operator personnel.
  • Self-manage professional development and training, by identifying and setting up trainings with equipment suppliers and automation vendors.

 

 

Job Requirements

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering: Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related field
  • Basic knowledge of 3D CAD modeling (AutoCAD / Solidworks/ Inventor)
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages (C++, visual basic, python, ladder logic)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Manufacturing related internship.
  • Available and willing to assist and support after hours equipment and process issues remotely or, if needed, in person

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Bachelors in Mechatronics Engineering
  • An ability to work well under pressure
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills & techniques: 5 why, 8D, Ishikawa diagram
  • Efficiency and organization
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices (Kanban, Poke-Yoke, JIT, Value Stream Mapping)
  • Tool and fixture design
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration capabilities
  • Design and application knowledge of ergonomics and machine safety standards
  • Basic knowledge of statistical process control (SPC)
  • Data analytics: use of software packages (MS Excel / Power BI / Knime)
  • PLC and HMI programming – Basic knowledge of Rockwell Studio 5000 and Factory Talk packages
  • Basic knowledge in interpretation of mechanical drawings and pneumatic and electrical schematics
  • Basic knowledge in the use of mechanical and electrical tools
