How will you contribute to the team?
Plans and organizes the observation and documentation of construction projects.
Schedules and coordinates observation of ongoing work and testing and sampling of materials.
Assigns, leads and supervises internal staff engaged in observation and testing and in related record keeping.
Monitors contractor's progress against schedule and prepares progress reports.
Reviews payment requests and determines amount owing to contractor(s) based on onsite observations and contract stipulations.
Oversees compilation of final estimate documents.
Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
Complexity (Variety or uniqueness of tasks; relative difficulty or importance of work performed; size of unit supported, etc.): Performs non-manual field work that involves a combination of conventional and complex features, requiring the application of sound and diversified professional knowledge in broad areas of assignments, usually including the coordination of various projects.
Decision making (Supervision received; independent judgment or initiative; consequence of error): Most assignments are performed independently, making decisions on technical problems and methods such as material quantities and documentation methods. Receives general instructions regarding assignment objectives and expected results.
Work directions given to others (Titles and number of personnel; type of direction given): Supervises and reviews the work of junior professionals, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments.
Internal contacts (Required interaction/relationship with others within the organization): Interfaces with senior technical professionals, technical managers, and administrative staff and managers as necessary.
External contacts (Required interaction/relationship with others outside the organization): Represents the firm dealings with clients, contractors and regulatory agency personnel.
What will you contribute?
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field plus seven years related experience, including personnel supervision. Engineering design experience desirable.
Leadership and managerial skills; analytical and organization skills; ability to supervise field representatives and field office personnel.
Professional Registration desired.
