About the Role:

In this opportunity as Lead Software Engineer, you will:

• Work on multiple projects developing web-based applications using Java and open source technologies (Spring, Hibernate, Struts, SQL, Web Services, Tomcat, Maven, etc.).
• Lead small teams of developers through the software development lifecycle
• Work closely with the project management team to assist in the collection of customer requirements and the creation of functional specifications.
• Create solutions across all layers of a web application from the UI to the database.
• Develop and maintain quality code, create unit tests, and fix bugs.
• Review code developed by team members.
• Keep up to date with and provide recommendations for new technologies.
• Drive continuous improvement in our software development process within an agile team.
• Help troubleshoot production issues and support maintenance of client's systems.

About You:

You're a fit for the role of Lead Software Engineer if your background includes:

• Ability to work regular schedule of Pacific Standard Time business hours.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of object-oriented development experience, Java preferred.
• 3+ years of web development experience including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MVC.
• 3+ years of SQL development experience.
• Proven ability to adapt well in a fast paced environment.
• Experience assisting in the translating of business requirements to technical requirements.
