Force Operations SME

Position Summary: 

As the Force Operations SME, you will leverage analysis and lead coordination to support the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E) Assistant Secretary of Defense for Mission Capabilities (ASD(MC)) and the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Multi-Domain Joint Operations (DASD(MDJO)) in advising the Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC).  This position is located in Falls Church, VA.  The organization’s mission is to facilitate the identification and transition of technologies, systems, and systems-of-systems that close time-critical gaps in high-priority, multi-component missions. 

Work location is on-site at the Suffolk Building supporting the customer.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning and completion of Technology Modernization Transition Reviews, lending technical expertise to help with topic selection and technology evaluations. 
• Assist with Rapid Defense Experimentation Reserve (RDER) ideation process, helping with management and execution of Joint Design Working Groups. 
• Coordinate activities of large cross-cutting communities of interest to address technical challenges. 
• Coordinate and develop holistic responses to OSD Taskings and Congressional requests for information.

 

Required Experience: 

• Minimum 15 years' of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in any field AND, Masters degree in Operation Research or Engineering OR possesses a certificate from advanced Professional Military Education relevant to Military Training and/or Military Planning.
• Experience and expertise in at least two or more of the following: Joint Force design, development and application, operational constraints, concepts of operation, concepts of employment, development and execution of Combatant Command operational plans, threat tactics and responses, or logistics approaches.
• Experience working with Joint Staff, JCIDS, and military operations.
• Must be able and willing to work in a secured location.
• TS/SCI is required.

Desired Experience:

• Experience with OUSD(R&E).
• Must be forward thinking and able to take initiative with minimal guidance. 
• Technical Writing experience.
