Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Speech/Language Pathology with NYS teaching certification required;
Clinical Fellowship Year opportunity available.
Preferred:
Masters degree in Speech/Language Pathology preferred;
NYS professional licensure and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence preferred

Wildwood School, a part of Wildwood Programs, provides a comprehensive educational program for students with autism spectrum disorders, and developmental disabilities to prepare them to be as independent as possible; Academic, social, employment, and functional skills are taught to each student as driven by their Individual Educational Plan (IEP), needs, and interests.
Who we are looking for: A Speech Therapist, who will enjoy working in a special education school environment, where passion and creativity rule to provide children with disabilities, like autism, a robust learning experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Completes in-depth diagnostic evaluations of students’ speech, language, and communication abilities and audiological screenings.
Presents a comprehensive analysis of students’ communication abilities and needs.
Develops and implements effective goals, techniques and lessons.
Incorporates available technology (software, adaptive equipment, AAC devices, internet research) to maximize students’ potential.
Works with students and their families holistically.
Integrates goals across program, including community.
Trains team members in the application of techniques.
Works collaboratively with team members to solve problems.
Uses effective proactive and reactive behavior management strategies.
QualificationsAdditional Requirements:
A valid New York State Driver’s License and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required.
Must have daily access to their own vehicle and drive our students when the program requires it.
Required to complete, pass, and use CALM training, provided by the school, which includes deescalation strategies and approved protective holds and movements for students.
