Turquoise Ridge - Underground Mobile Maintenance Welder

The Welder – Mobile Maintenance is responsible for welding, fabricating, and repairing components on the mobile mining equipment fleet, including haul trucks, loaders, dozers, graders, and drill rigs. This role ensures mobile equipment is maintained to a safe and reliable standard, supporting fleet availability and minimizing unplanned downtime.

Responsibilities:

• Perform welding, fabrication, and repair on mobile mining equipment (haul trucks, loaders, dozers, graders, drills) using a variety of processes including MIG, TIG, stick/manual arc, and brazing
• Perform line boring on various types of equipment and take precise measurements. 
• Diagnose structural wear, cracking, and damage on mobile equipment components and complete repairs to OEM and site specifications
• Fabricate and install replacement parts, guards, brackets, ladders, and structural supports for the mobile equipment fleet
• Perform preventative and scheduled welding maintenance to minimize unplanned equipment downtime
• Operate cutting and AIR ARC gouging equipment safely and effectively
• Complete accurate work orders and maintenance records for all welding and repair activities
• Coordinate with mechanics, supervisors, and maintenance planners to prioritize repairs and support fleet availability
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe welding shop, tools, and work area
• Other duties as required

Qualifications:

• Two (2) or more years’ welding experience in a mining, heavy equipment, or industrial environment preferred
• AWS certification or equivalent trade qualification required
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick (manual arc) welding required
• Personal hand tools required
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics, and interpret OEM repair specifications required
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds required
• Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, team orientated, and work with minimum supervision required
• Proven safety record required
• Excellent attendance record required
• Willingness to work in adverse conditions required
• The ability to work a rotating schedule of days and nights is an essential function of this role

Work Experience:

Essential

• Prior welding experience on mobile or heavy equipment
• Prior line boring experience. 
• Experience working in a mining or industrial maintenance environment
• Experience operating cutting and AIR ARC gouging equipment

Desirable

• Prior experience welding on haul trucks, shovels, or drill rigs
• Experience working in a union or non-union heavy equipment maintenance shop
• Prior Mine Maintenance experience
