Job Description Summary

To manage the five Cardiology Fellowship programs and all related program oversight. This includes primary program coordinator oversight of three programs (General Cardiovascular Disease, EP, and Advanced Heart Failure), as well as additional program support for Interventional Cardiology and Adult Congenital Heart Disease programs. Overall duties include operational oversight and strategic implementation of programmatic priorities to ensure high quality Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs. Serves as subject matter expert in the field of GME, with oversight and responsibility for recruitment, credentialing, curriculum, evaluation, accreditation, compliance, fiscal, and reporting processes. Works under general supervision of Program Director(s). Assist the Program Directors with all aspects of recruiting, on boarding, curriculum, scheduling evaluation, graduation and maintaining all records related to training activities. Provide evaluation results, assure evaluations are created and linked to the appropriate people and print out the evaluations for semiannual and annual evaluations.

Job Duties:

25% - Coordinates programs for the Cardiology Fellowship program. This includes primary program oversight of all three programs (General/Cardiovascular Disease, Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology). Provide evaluation results, assure evaluations are created and linked to the appropriate people and print out the evaluations for semiannual and annual evaluations. Assist the Program Directors with all managing aspects of recruiting, on boarding, curriculum, scheduling evaluation, graduation and maintaining all records related to training activities. Assist with the coordination of any non-accredited program requests and implementation, as well as coordination with additional new Program Director(s), as they come to the Division of Cardiology. Provides expert consultation to Program Directors and staff regarding curriculum and evaluation needs while creating innovative and effective methods. Utilizes data and best practices to inform strategic initiatives to advance GME HR Functions such as recruitment and resident/fellow well-being. Counsels Program Directors, faculty, staff, and residents/fellows on policies, regulatory, accreditation, and board requirements. Ensures that all deadlines set by MUSC, GME Office, Division/Department, and ACGME are adhered to.

15% - Provides additional program support for Interventional Cardiology and Adult Congenital Heart Disease programs. Provide evaluation results, assure evaluations are created and linked to the appropriate people and print out the evaluations for semiannual and annual evaluations. Assist the Program Directors with all aspects of recruiting, on boarding, curriculum, scheduling evaluation, graduation and maintaining all records related to training activities. Provides expert consultation to Program Directors and staff regarding curriculum and evaluation needs while creating innovative and effective methods. Utilizes data and best practices to inform strategic initiatives to advance GME HR Functions, including but not limited to, recruitment and resident/fellow well-being. 15% - Serves as direct manager for one Administrative Assistant that provides primary program coordination to Interventional Cardiology and Adult Congenital Heart Disease programs. Completes performance evaluation on annual basis for Administrative Assistant. Oversees work completed by Administrative Assistant to ensure all deadlines set by MUSC and ACGME are met. Provides feedback to staff member.

10% - Serves as the primary contact for the program, liaising with those directly associated with the program, the Institutional GME Office, and regulatory agencies. Regularly attends all monthly program coordinator meetings, GME educational offerings, and GMEC. Participates in GME program reviews and serves on a GMEC subcommittee to assist with developing and implementing best practices.
