Position: Hospice After Hours & On Call RN ( AHOC RN )

Location: Benton Franklin County

Type: Full Time - Exempt

Anticipated Schedule: 7 shifts per 2-week pay period, 4:30 pm to 8:00 am. Every other weekend.

Position Overview:

As a Hospice After Hours and On-Call Registered Nurse (AHOC RN), you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and specialized care to patients and families during non-business hours in a hospice setting. You will be responsible for assessing patient needs, coordinating care, providing emotional support, and ensuring the highest level of comfort for patients in their final stages of life. This role requires excellent clinical skills, empathy, flexibility, and the ability to work independently.


Minimum Qualifications:

1. Current Washington State license as a professional registered nurse. 

2. At least two years of post-education nursing experience, preferably with one year in a hospice, palliative care, or oncology setting. 

3. Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and remain calm under pressure in urgent situations. 

4. Must be available as scheduled outside of our regular business hours, for evenings, weekends, and holidays, as part of the on-call nursing staff. 

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact compassionately with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team. 

6. Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Intermediate computer skills. 


CLINICAL STAFF POSITION QUALIFICATIONS 

1. As required per position/credentialing; successful completion of Blood Born Pathogens Training 

2. Certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Safety (BLS) 

3. (Hospice House) Washington State Food Worker Card issued by the Department of Health

Compensation

Pay Range: 

Starting Range: 35.50 - $55.00 Annually

Max Range: $35.00 - $73.81 Annually


Premiums:

· $2.50/hour Weeknight

· $2.25/hour Weekday

· $4.75/hour Weekend Night

· $4.00/hour On Call Standby


Note regarding the listed pay range:

At Tri-Cities Chaplaincy, we carefully establish salary ranges for our positions by taking various factors into account, including education, certifications, knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions. These ranges are tailored to match the diverse programs and services we offer. Our goal is to ensure fair compensation for candidates based on these factors while maintaining internal peer equity.


Benefits 

· Mileage Reimbursement: $0.67 per mile, for eligible positions.

· Vacation: Accrual of hours each pay period based on hours worked.

· Wellness Days: After the 90-day introductory period, eligible employees can convert up to two sick days into wellness days.
