OSHA/Worker's Compensation Specialist

The primary responsibility of this position will be to prepare, maintain, and submit all required reporting to OSHA for the WC program.  The position will also be a part of the WC Team that works with employees and insurance carriers to process worker’s compensation claims and coordinate the payment of benefits.  Provides analytical and technical support in the delivery of the worker's compensation program. Provides excellent customer service.

Essential Functions

• File State Industrial Insurance premiums and reports.
• Prepare, maintain, and file all OSHA reports and logs.
• Prepares detailed statistical and analytical reports as requested. 
• Work with the insurance carrier and employees to coordinate medical treatment and provide the necessary follow-up until the claim is resolved
• Provide accurate and timely responses to the requests of the show staff, employees, and medical providers via telephone, e-mail, etc. 
• Coordinate health and worker’s compensation physicians with the traveling show by providing a list of in-network health care and workers' compensation panel doctors for posting on the shows 4 weeks before the show's arrival.
• Advises employees and management on the interpretation of workers' compensation policies, programs, and procedures.  Maintains up-to-date knowledge of worker's compensation regulations and laws for reporting worker's compensation. Stays abreast of applicable legislation.
• Will assist the Benefits Director as needed.
• May be assigned other tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
• 3-5 years of related experience in an OSHA - workers compensation role.
• Knowledge of Infor HRIS system is beneficial.
• Good verbal and writing skills.
• Ability to work well with people.
• Strong Excel spreadsheet and Word computer skills.
• Certified Workers' Compensation Professional (CWCP) Preferred.
