The Opportunity
Abbott has an opportunity for a Senior Procurement Specialist, Technology. The Senior Specialist will lead technology procurement activities to bring best value for Abbott.
The Senior Procurement Specialist, Technology is responsible for executing against the purchasing and supply management strategies created by the Technology Category Managers. Work closely with technology and business customers and the Category Managers driving the "One Abbott Procurement" model. Provide superior levels of customer service and satisfaction while adhering to a strict standard of business ethics and integrity. The Sr. Specialist has delegated authority to commit company funds. This position will contribute to Category strategy and identify/support the resolution and opportunities to provide value, quality, feasibility and specifications in the procurement of goods and services. The Senior Specialist will partner with suppliers and internal customers to contribute cost savings and other value-added activities to support customer needs and expectations.
What You’ll Work On
- Execute against larger category strategies and work in the guidance of strategic category leaders
- Research and evaluate products, services and suppliers
- Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and promote procurement tools and strategies
- Develop and lead complex RFx and other projects
- Performs value analysis on costs and supplier quotes and proposals
- Negotiates contracts with a strong understanding of contract terms and conditions
- Partner with legal
- Recommends process improvements to streamline for efficiencies
- Analyzes complex problems and delivers solutions
- Achieve annual targets and support global category goals.
- Drive innovative ways to maintain and improve procurement processes, cycle times, total acquisition costs, and customer service levels
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Supply Management or related field.
- Strong contracting and negotiation skills
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, legal or another related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of procurement best practices and supply management strategies.
- Strong project management, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication with Suppliers and Stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in developing RFPs and managing supplier relationships.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills
- Familiarity with Source to Pay technology platforms.
- CPM certification a plus

The base pay for this position is
$75,300.00 – $150,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
