Job Description
In this role you are an important GTC team member, a highly visible and strategic position that ensures adherence with International Trade Law and local regulations, improves operational efficiency and facilitates reduction of tariff and non-tariff barriers. The primary focus will be the Martillac location, but this position will also support another key site in France (Pringy) as well as other EU (as needed) with tactical and compliance activities.
By leveraging your expertise and collaborating with various cross-functional teams, the Country Lead for France helps optimize trade compliance operations, enhance decision-making, and mitigate risks. Your contributions are instrumental in shaping the future of our trade compliance function and supporting AbbVie's mission to improve the lives of individuals worldwide.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain localized operational import and export procedures
- Interface with local site management and other internal/external partners to ensure all import/export transactions are in compliance with EU Customs Law
- Act as primary point of contact with customs and any other government agencies to address request for audit and inspections. Provide support for external reviews and investigations/audits to help minimize any adverse impact to the company.
- Manage the daily import/export operational activities and resolve day-to-day import/export/customs issues that result in border delays.
- Oversee financial and operational trade metrics and analysis, develop solution/strategies to issues or opportunities.
