Caterpillar’s Electrification + Energy Solutions (E+ES) Division defines and develops electrified powertrain solutions, utilizing advanced power generation, conversion, control, and charging technologies to support our customers in their electrification journeys.
As an Engineering Project Team Leader in Power Electronics System & Components, you will be joining an innovative team on the cutting edge of electrification. You will have the unique opportunity to direct and lead concepting, design, and development of power electronic components and integrated systems used in multiple Caterpillar applications.
You will partner with a global design team, providing project guidance for the successful design and development of medium voltage power electronic components and integrated systems. You will have the opportunity to work with and learn from a highly experienced team of engineers having significant experience across Caterpillar electric drive and stationary power conversion applications.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Work with the machine business division and drivetrain system engineering groups to establish the application requirements for power electronics components/systems
Support power conversion NPI & NTI program deliverables
Detailed collaboration with the extended team for electrical design and the release of circuit schematics, component prints and 3D models.
Play an active role in supplier selection and development of the potential suppliers for the electrical designs
Leverage knowledge and experience of other Caterpillar SMEs to leverage best practices, improve design efficiency, and raise the overall skill level of our team.
Stay up to date with the latest advances in power electronics technologies and solutions in industry
Perform complete requirements generation, component design, simulation, validation and production development for new power inverters and converters

Engineering Degree Requirement
Technical Excellence: Extensive design and product development knowledge for components, systems, automotive or mobile drive applications
Level Extensive Experience:
• Experience with electric drive systems is a plus
• Experience with quality tools including FMEA, APQP & PPAP
• Experience with Issue resolution process
Analytical Thinking: Experience with validation and testing methods.
