What Does a Processing Team Member Do Anyway?
• Sort donated items and identify great finds
• Help identify recyclable items. Even if we can't sell it, we keep it out of the landfill
• Get those great finds sales floor ready
• Load and unload carts to get merchandise out safely and efficiently

Position Purpose and Objectives
The Processing Team Lead is a key member of our leadership team, responsible for driving daily backroom operations and ensuring team members meet production, quality, and safety expectations. This hands-on leadership role supports the Processing Supervisor by training, coaching, and motivating team members while fostering a positive, safe, and productive work environment.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who leads by example, enjoys developing others, and thrives in a fast-paced setting. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are strongly preferred to help support communication and training across diverse team members.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Lead daily processing operations, including sorting, grading, pricing, tagging, hanging, and racking merchandise.
• Assist with planning and distributing daily production goals across all processing areas.
• Monitor team performance to ensure productivity goals and Critical to Quality (CTQ) standards are consistently met.
• Conduct quality control checks to verify accurate pricing, proper tag rotation, and merchandise condition.
• Train, coach, and onboard new team members while reinforcing company procedures and safety standards.
• Provide ongoing feedback and support to team members to improve performance and engagement.
• Rotate team members through various stations to encourage cross-training and reduce repetitive strain injuries.
• Monitor workflow and proactively address bottlenecks to maintain efficient processing operations.
• Assist with seasonal transitions, special projects, inventory movement, and promotional initiatives.
• Lead by example through a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to America's Thrift Stores' Mission and Core Values.
• Communicate effectively with store leadership regarding production progress, staffing needs, and operational concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
• Promote and enforce OSHA safety standards and company loss prevention practices.
• Serve as the primary backroom leader in the absence of the Processing Supervisor or Assistant Manager.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
