Job Summary:

The Patient Access Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient patient flow and positive patient experience within the medical office. This position requires exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

Procedure Reviews and Documentation:

•  Review patient charts to ensure all necessary information for procedures is accurately documented.
• Correspond and collaborate with medical coder to ensure complete and adequate documentation is in patient chart for previous and upcoming procedures.

Scheduling and Correspondence with Day Surgery:

• Assist with scheduling of day surgery procedures.
• Facilitate communication between our office and day surgery.
• Ensure all necessary orders and paperwork is completed accurately and promptly.

Insurance Verification and Eligibility:

• Verify insurance coverage for new patients and confirm eligibility for services.
• Communicate insurance details to patients and review of copay/balance that will be due at time of visit.
• Provide clear explanations of charges and payment options available.

Communicating with Staff:

• Collaborate with medical providers, medical assistants, and administrative staff to coordinate patient care.
• Relay pertinent patient information and updates to ensure continuity of care.

Maintaining Patient Records and Information:

• Updated electronic medical records with accurate patient information and treatment details.
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations in handling patient records.
