Position Summary

Harbinger Health’s Innovation Team, a hub of scientific advancement and application, is seeking a Senior Research Associate to help develop and evaluate cutting-edge genomic bioassay technologies for clinical diagnostics. Candidates should have a strong foundation in genomics, molecular biology techniques, and industry experience with bioassays such as qPCR and NGS, as well as proficiency in nucleic acid extraction, size selection, and Quality Control. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, capable of swiftly transitioning between diverse projects, and eager to learn new protocols, fostering a deep understanding of the underlying rationale and study designs.

 Key responsibilities

• Research novel biology, protocols, and technologies as necessary.
• Perform lab work and experiments as guided by senior staff.
• Record experimental conditions and results in Harbinger ELN/Database.
• Contribute to experimental design.
• Analyze data and present results.
• Organize and prepare reagents and samples.
• Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.
• Work as a part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with scientific and engineering teams.
• Perform general lab cleaning, restocking, and maintenance.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in the Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related discipline.
• 3-5 years of industry experience with qPCR, dPCR or NGS.
• Experienced in nucleic acid extraction, size selection, and appropriate storage and QC of nucleic acids. 
• Flexibility and aptitude learning new concepts, techniques, and ideas.
• Good organization and communication skills.
• Strong collaboration skills, able to work as a part of multidisciplinary teams.
