About Advancement Data Operations

In January 2023, Advancement Data Operations began the implementation of a new Salesforce-based advancement CRM, Affinaquest Advancement RM; this position is being brought onboard to help prepare for a March 2025 Go-Live and the team’s future support of ARM. In addition to ARM, the Application development team supports TEXAS Development’s current bespoke CRM and several ancillary offerings that support the mission of TEXAS Development.

Purpose

Reporting to Senior Information Technology Manager, Advancement Data Operations, the Salesforce Administrator will join ADO’s growing Application Development team to help drive the design and configuration of TEXAS Development’s new Salesforce-based CRM. This role will serve as an ADO resource handing configuration and customizations identified and designed by the Senior Salesforce Solution Architect, Senior Application Analyst(s), and Huron Consulting Group business analysts and solution architect.

The Salesforce Administrator will serve a key role in the University Development Office’s ongoing Affinaquest Advancement RM (Salesforce) implementation and will be an important support role in the future state tasked with providing business analysis, technical design assistance, and system configuration supporting the efforts of the Advancement Data Operations Salesforce team.

Responsibilities

  • Manages small to medium-scale projects assuming full technical responsibility and leadership. Review, prioritize, and contribute to the resolution of outstanding configuration decisions as identified by project leads

  • Analyze and interpret user requirements, user stories, use cases, and system architecture documentation. Perform complex systems analysis, report development, and configuration tasks.

  • Assist with technical design and data mapping efforts by eliciting user requirements, documenting user stories, and communicating with both internal and external subject matter experts and data stewards

  • Participate in design, configuration, and testing activities including performing basic administrative CRM functions such as modification of page layouts and list views, generation of reports and dashboards, creation of new fields, and other routine tasks, maintain and enhance system applications and reports

  • In partnership with Senior Application Support Specialist, manage and monitor new security enhancement requests, including requests for new permission sets, permission set groups, public groups, and sharing rules while keeping in alignment with the overall organizational security policies

  • Identify opportunities for and create automations by designing and developing flows, approval processes, and validation rules. Work with departments to identify and solve business problems, solicit requirements and interpret client requests and propose solutions that are appropriate in the broader context of university procedures, goals, and automated systems technology.

  • Participate in design and testing activities for the purpose of Business Unit acceptance and package deployment. Establish testing procedures for applications and reports support business analysis and statutory reporting requirements.
