Job Purpose
This role can either be located onsite at our Global Corporate Headquarters in Reading, PA.... in
Springfield, Missouri... or Warrensburg, Missouri
Lead the Quality activities with new product development projects, supporting the implementation of Quality mindset and driving for preventive actions and robust design of to the entire project teams, guiding the team to identify potential failures in an earlier stages of product development utilizing Quality tools and lessons learned. Support the identification of project risks and required actions to mitigate them and problem solving focusing on effective and robust technical solutions
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive the Quality mindset within project teams
- Drive project teams to flawless project execution using the risk assessment process to manage priorities and collaboration of cross functional teams
- Develop and define project Quality plans based on APQP process
- Coach and train co-workers on Quality methods and tools
- Develop, implement and monitor Quality KPIs
- Develop and support development of new components/process with supplier, drive for excellence in part quality
- Coordinate and drive Problem solving activities within the projects with focus to prevention
- Guide and drive process quality activities in the manufacturing environment in preparation for series production
- Coordinate and manage PPAP dossiers in preparation for series production
- Support Development activities of critical, troubleshooting and problem solving whenever required
- Prepare and issue weekly Quality Status Report for new projects
- Moderate Design and Process FMEAs
- Develop along with cross-functional NPI teams control plans for prototypes, pre-production and mass production
- Drive for application of lessons learned into product design
- Provide support to reliability growth test in the stages of product development with the aim to detect and report the product decay or the correctable abnormalities during the development phase, supporting the definition of the diagnosis
- Support preparation and execution of internal and third-party quality audits and provide technical support to sustain the effectiveness of the quality manage system
- Guarantee quality criteria standardization during the development of APQP phases
- Ensure application of lessons learned relevant for the specific project
- Perform and support Project Status Audits and Process Audits on new production lines whenever required,
- Review and analyze data for Continuous Improvement projects
- Coordinate the APQP of new products by supporting the plant during the quotation process of new products, introduction of product modifications/process changes/new suppliers
- Review customer requirements as essential input for the projects
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s in Science – Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics engineering (preferred)
- Quality tools experience
- Experience managing Quality activities with Suppliers
Preferred Requirements
- Six Sigma Green Belt
- Certified auditor
- FMEA moderator
- Automotive Spice and or functional safety skills (ISO 26262)
- IATF Core tools
