The College of Pharmacy is looking for a Research Assistant to serve as a member of the Pharmaceutical Sciences team. Responsibilities:

Admissions Process

  • Participates and assists with the admissions process coordinated by the Office of Student Affairs. 

  • Specifically evaluates the transcripts of prospective students and identifies missing prerequisite coursework, relays information about prerequisite course equivalents as necessary, evaluates PharmCAS and supplemental applications, collects transcripts and other admissions related documents (e.g., results from drug screens and background checks), and will assist with assembly of the admissions rank lists for interviews and admission offers. 

  • Remains abreast of changes to the core curriculum established by the THECB and maintains student records consistent with university policy and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

  • Uses PharmCAS and BAMF to track applications and supplemental applications, respectively, and assists with providing information for admissions reports (e.g., number of applicants from South Texas) requested by the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs.

Recruitment and Outreach

  • Participates in the recruiting efforts of the Office of Student Affairs including events at middle schools, high schools, universities and community colleges to present information about the college and the Doctor of Pharmacy program, develops relationships with the advisors of pre-pharmacy associations and career counselors to encourage prospective student inquiries and applications, provides
