Summary of Job Duties:

The Administrative Specialist III is the first point of contact for the departmental office and provides administrative support for the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology. The primary job duties include managing departmental inventory and assisting with departmental travel and fleet management. This position will have reception and clerical duties, such as answering the phone, maintaining the cleanliness of common areas, assisting with faculty, student, and staff copying, faxing, and shredding requests, managing departmental shipping and receiving needs, and organizing special events including weekly seminars. Other duties may be assigned by supervisor or department head.
Regular and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus one year of specialized training in business management, business education, or a related field; plus three years of experience in specialized or a related field applicable to work performed.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Work Day or previous UA System applications.
Experience working in a University of Arkansas Departmental office.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent communication and customer service skills are a must. Current knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe creative suite are a must. Knowledge of the University of Arkansas and the Division of Agriculture would be very helpful. Ability and willingness to interact with a diverse
