Summary/Objective

In conjunction with the Regional Resource Management (RRM) Branch Business Section Chief and Assistant Deputy Director, provides primary oversight of budget development and administration for RRM Branch; provides coordination of RRM business functions between Conservation Business Services Branch, Human Resources Branch, and regions; provides oversight and support to regions with grants and cooperative agreements; and provides miscellaneous leadership support to Business Section Chief, Assistant Deputy Director, and regions as needed. Provides leadership and coordination of the Department's Ag Crop Program and/or other RRM programs. 

Essential Job Duties

  • Provide primary oversight of RRM Branch budget development and administration. 
  • Provide coordination and oversight over RRM Branch business functions between Conservation Business Services Branch, Human Resources Branch, and regions.
  • Serve as "dashed line" supervisor and mentor to Regional Business Managers and Contract Technicians.
  • Assist with process improvement coordination and operational excellence initiatives for Branch and coordinate efforts to implement changes.
  • Assist with the development of annual RRM Branch work plans and coordination with other branches.
  • Assist with RRM Branch internal and external communications.
  • Provide oversight and support to regions for development and approval of grants and cooperative agreements.
  • Develop, implement and maintain standard business practices and processes.
  • Provide miscellaneous leadership support and assistance as needed to Assistant Deputy Director, Business Section Chief, and regions.
  • Provide leadership and coordination of the Department's Ag Crop Program and/or other RRM programs.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, IT, Communications, Natural Resources, or related field with experience or coursework in business management, public administration or operations management.
  • At least six (6) years of progressively responsible professional experience in executive-level administrative assistant work.
  • Must maintain a valid, current driver's license.
