Our mission is to work on a range of issues with land grant universities and other partners in the Northeast as well as nationally in support of regional economic growth and rural development. NERCRD currently employs a Director, Associate Director, Assistant Research Professor, Communication Specialist, Postdoctoral Scholar and a Graduate Student.

The NERCRD seeks applications for an Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant for the NERCRD has many responsibilities including general overseeing of business processes and daily operations of the Center. Care and attention to detail are needed to ensure that all awarded budgets – such as for research grants, general and federally appropriated-funds – are in place and that all costs, including salaries, are charged appropriately and accurately, and balances are monitored and drawn down consistently. In addition, the business manager works closely with the Director to develop budgets and budget justifications for proposals, hire new employees, and correspond with collaborators and stakeholders frequently. Scheduling, preparations and meeting minutes are also required for internal, regional and national collaborators. Special project work includes technical support for webinars and conference proceedings.

The Center offers a competitive salary along with benefits, and the opportunity to work with colleagues and scholars in the region, nationally, and internationally. Opportunities also exist for attending conferences to support networking activities.
