The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.

 

Responsibilities

  • Document preparation, calendar management, general office management and routine secretarial functions. 
  • Requires proficient computer skills and experience in word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, electronic meeting and scheduling applications. 
  • Handles correspondence between departments and to and from outside organizations. 
  • Maintains records on computer spreadsheets, does work processing tasks, and arranges meeting times and places for staff and clients.
  • Credit Card & expense reconciliation
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 

Here's What You'll Need:

 

Qualifications – External

High School Diploma or equivalent. At least seven years of related experience or an associate degree with 4 years of experience.

  •  Excellent written and oral communication and executive customer interface skills required.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office products, Internet browsers, and outlook.
  •  Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if necessary.

Essential Functions

 

Physical Requirements

  • Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
  • Physical requirements are: sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures.
  • May be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection and other associated personal protective equipment.
  • Position is located on a hazardous  facility; must be able to quickly evacuate buildings in the event of an emergency. 

Work Environment

  • Work will mainly be done inside, but fieldwork can be a combination of outside and inside depending on the project.
  • Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the facility.
  • All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards.

 Equipment and Machines

  • Personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, laser printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.

 Attendance

  • Work assignments are normally 8 hours shifts, 5 consecutive days per week.
  • Must be dependable and punctual.
  • Occasional overtime, sometimes with short notice, is required to meet demanding schedule  

Other Essential Functions

  • If offered a position, proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card holder of the United States is required.
  • Needs to have clear, concise, and accurate communication skills.
